“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and
orgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord
as forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is,
the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Christ control your hearts,
the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:12-17
Dear Families,
Welcome to the Religious Education Program at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church! The goals of our program are for your children to...
...learn about Jesus and grow in love for Him.
...experience the love of God as they are formed in faith.
...realize the importance of regular participation in the Sacraments.
...have a knowledge of the Catholic faith and a desire to embrace it.
...respond to their call to discipleship.
...be active members of this faith community.
...be supported by their spiritual brothers and sisters in our parish.
When you made the decision to have your children baptized, you promised to raise them in the Catholic faith. You are their first and most important teachers! By enrolling your children in our Religious Education Program and by bringing them to Mass on Sunday, you are showing them that our Catholic faith is a priority for your family. Your word and example speak volumes to your children. Our program is designed to support you in the Catholic education and formation of your family.
We offer our Family Catechesis program as well as our traditional Wednesday classroom-based program. Students in our Family Catechesis program will complete the textbook chapters at home under the guidance of a parent or guardian with review material to be submitted online. They attend five of our eight sessions per year with their families following the 5pm Saturday Vigil or 10am Sunday morning Mass. Mass is considered to be part of class. In addition to this, these families participate in both social and service events at the parish in order to foster community and grow as disciples. Family Catechesis students must also attend Mass twice per month and submit a “Mass form” answering some brief questions about their experience. The Wednesday program follows a more traditional model where the instruction and formation are done in a classroom setting under the guidance of a catechist. Wednesday sessions are held twice a month from 4:00-5:30pm in the school building. Wednesday students must attend Mass at least twice per month and hand in the Mass form.
All returning families must use the registration link that was sent to your email address. If you cannot locate this email, please contact us so we can send you a new one. The registration form will send you to the online payment page (Parish Giving) at the end of the registration process. Please note that your registration is not complete until the payment is made.
We are all sharing this faith journey together! Please do not hesitate to call the Religious Education office at 201-337-5537 with any questions you have. Our e-mail address is: [email protected].
Thank you!
