All are welcome!
Cornerstone is a 24-hour, weekend experience (Friday night to Saturday night) for adult parishioners, the goal of which is to deepen one’s relationship with Christ by making Him the cornerstone of their lives. This goal is accomplished through a series of talks, discussions, and spiritual activities that are designed to put the participant in closer contact with God and with fellow retreatants. Through small and large group dynamics, participants become more actively involved in their spiritual development by sharing their respective stories, reflecting upon them, and identifying how God is working in their lives. The Cornerstone experience helps the participants to discern answers to some of life’s questions, provide clarity about one’s priorities, and find hope in a world that can often seem spiritually dark. It is about how God touches us in various ways, some of which we may not have been aware of.
A Cornerstone Retreat is gender-specific, and the team for each retreat is comprised of people — typically your fellow parishioners and neighbors — who themselves have attended Cornerstone. Preparation by the team for each retreat usually takes about one year and is evidence of the commitment and dedication given by team members to ensure success. The retreat itself is held here on the parish grounds.
Our most recent Cornerstone was for women, and by all accounts, the retreat was a profoundly enriching experience for all who attended.
